How to Import Contacts using a CSV file in B2B Hub

Learn how to effortlessly import your valuable contacts into your B2B Hub account with this step-by-step tutorial. Whether you have a spreadsheet from another platform or data collected in Excel or Google Sheets, we'll show you how to convert it into a CSV file and seamlessly import it into your B2B Hub account. This guide walks you through each stage, from selecting the right import type to handling duplicate records and even tagging leads for easy segmentation.


Step 1: Prepare Your Contact Spreadsheet

  • Start by ensuring you have a spreadsheet of contacts ready. This can be downloaded from another platform or created in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • The preferred format for your contact spreadsheet is CSV (Comma-Separated Values).

Step 2: Download Your CSV File

  • If you have your contacts in a different format, convert it to CSV. Most spreadsheet programs have an option to save or download as CSV.

Step 3: Access Your B2B Hub Account

  • Login to your B2B Hub account


Step 4: Navigate to Leads

  • On the left panel menu, scroll down until you find "Leads" and click on it.

Step 5: Initiate Contact Import

  • In the top right-hand corner, click the blue "Actions" button dropdown.
  • Select "Import Contacts" from the dropdown menu.

Step 6: Choose Import Type

  • On the import screen, you'll see various import options. Select "CSV Spreadsheet" since we're using a CSV file.

Step 7: Specify Import Type

  • You'll be prompted to specify the type of import. For most cases, choose "Import People" or "Import Contacts."

Step 8: Select Your CSV File

  • Click the option to find your CSV file, then click "Open" to start the import process.


Step 9: Review and Match Fields

  • B2B Hub will show a selection of contacts for your approval. Ensure that the fields on the left match those in the dropdown. This ensures proper data mapping.

Step 10: Additional Fields

  • Check for any additional fields that haven't been mapped and add them as needed.

Step 11: Tag Your Leads

  • You can tag your leads during import for segmentation purposes. Assign relevant tags to your contacts.

Step 12: Handle Duplicate Records

  • Choose how you want to handle duplicate records. You can either skip them or merge new information with existing records. Merging is recommended to avoid duplicates.

Step 13: Import Your Contacts

  • Confirm your choices, and then click "Import List" to start the import process.

Step 14: Verify Import Completion

  • Once the import is complete, you'll receive a confirmation. You can now return to the B2B Hub dashboard.

Step 15: Check Imported Contacts

  • Navigate back to the "Leads" section in the left menu. You should now see the imported contacts in your B2B Hub account.

Step 16: Review Tagged Contacts

  • If you applied tags during import, you'll notice changes in the status of your contacts based on the tags you assigned.
